Available Guinea Pigs

Adoption Policy »
  1. Before applying, review the page about appropriate CAGES (click here) . It is very important to us that your guinea pig has a proper size cage!
  2. We do NOT SHIP guinea pigs. You must be able to come to us for the adoption.
  3. We do NOT ADOPT to minors. Heads-of-household only can apply to adopt. Please do not apply to adopt if you are a minor living with your parents.
  4. We do NOT ADOPT to people who have other pets living outdoors (with the exception of horses and other farm animals).
  5. Review important guinea pig DIET information: What to Feed Your Guinea Pig.
  6. We have a "pairs policy". If you own a guinea pig, we are happy to help you find a compatible friend amongst ours. If you don't own a guinea pig, you may adopt a bonded pair or create a pair from our single guinea pigs. When you don't already own a guinea pig, we highly recommend adopting one of our bonded pairs - that way you know you have a pair that gets along, and won't run the risk of them not getting along once you get them home.

Fees »

Fees as of Jan 1, 2019

  • $65 per neutered male guinea pig
  • $80 per spayed female guinea pig
  • $110 for bonded pairs (Pairs listed on the site together)
  • Unlike some other rescue groups, all of our guinea pigs are spayed/neutered and have been to a vet for a checkup prior to adoption. While the adoption fee helps to cover some of the vet costs, our expenses far exceed the adoption fees. Click Here to see why we feel that spaying/neutering our guinea pigs is so important. Not only does it control the guinea pig population, there are definite health benefits.
  • A contract must be signed at adoption time

Notice about adopting female guinea pigs:There is currently a higher demand for spayed, female guinea pigs than availability. There may be up to a two month waiting period after submitting an application. We are limited by which guinea pigs are available in the local shelters and availability of foster homes. We appreciate your patience when adopting.

    Name:Christoph
    Sex:Male
    Type: Black/American Shorthair
    Age: 2 Years , 9 Months
    Altered:Neutered

Christoph is a sweet, loving boy who loves lap time and cookies. He’s curious and loves attention. He would very much like to meet a submissive girl to call his own. Is that yours?

  •

    Name:Suede
    Sex:Male
Type: Red Agouti & White/American Shorthair
    Age: 2 Years , 2 Months
    Altered:Neutered

My foster mom says "I'm SOME pig." I have a lot of piggy energy. I'm spunky and love to run around, hop on top of my hut, and zoom around. I also am a really good snuggler when I am in the mood. If you are lucky, I might also gift you with some piggy kisses. I'm a lover and not a fighter. I was paired up with some ladies before I came into the rescue and fathered a few litters. I'm fixed now, but I do enjoy the company of other pigs and really miss having a friend of my own. I'm very polite and am learning to accept head scratches in my cage.

  •

    Name:Cashmere
    Sex:Female
    Type: Black & White/American Shorthair
    Age: 1 Year , 10 Months
    Altered:Spayed

Cashmere is a very sweet, shy girl. She enjoys lap time and with pretty much every pet, she’ll give you a purr. She ALWAYS knows when its veggie time, and she’ll let you know how excited she is! Whenever you replenish her hay or veggies, she runs around making happy noises and popcorns! She likes to hide in her hay as well as chew on hay in cardboard tubes (she should always be supervised with them as she tries to stick her head in them)! She enjoys cilantro (her fav!), lettuce, carrots, cucumbers and the occasional grape. She likes to give little kisses and nibbles on your fingers therefore she may not be the best fit for a family with young children. Since her sister was adopted this girl has been a little lonely and is in need of a piggy friend and loving home.

  •

    Name:Damask
    Sex:Female
    Type: Black & Red/American Shorthair
    Age: 1 Year , 5 Months
    Altered:Spayed

Hi everypawdy, my name is Damask and I'm a cute little girl with a very soft coat. Right now I live alone with my foster mom. It's a pretty good gig, I love coming to the bars for treats (oxbow cookies and guineadad pea flakes are my favorite!) and purring when my foster mom pets me (head pets are the best!). But, I'm a bit lonely, and I really do need a friend. While I know not to bite people, I can't say the same for blankets and T-shirts. When I'm ready to go back in my cage, I yank at all of the fabric around me, even if my foster mom is wearing it. So I probably need forever home with nice grown-ups, and not little kids that might drop me. I hope you have a nice boy I can meet soon!

  •

    Name:Guinevere & Galahad
    Sex:Male/Female Pair
Type: Black & Black & White/American Shorthairs / Silkie mix
    Age: 1 Year , 9 Months
    Altered:Neutered/Spayed
    Special Needs:YES

As you might expect, Galahad is an outgoing pig knight who protects his lady. However, Guinevere isn’t always a shrinking violet. Let her loose for floor time, and this seemingly timid girl has no worries about traveling the far lands of your household, with Galahad following. Both have learned to enthusiastically squeak for veggies and take them from their foster mom. Once settled in, they love lap time, Galahad purring enthusiastically and Guinevere accepting pets more quietly. This pair would thrive best in a home with older children. Galahad’s enthusiasm for grabbing his treats lands teeth on fingers, and both tend to signal they’re done with lap time (need to use the bathroom!) by kisses with teeth. They do understand you don’t like that and it can be curtailed once everyone knows their signals.

    Sex:Male
    Type: Black & White/American Shorthair
    Age: 1 Year , 4 Months

  •

    Name:Garnet
    Sex:Male
    Type: White & Brown/Abyssinian
    Age: 1 Year
    Altered:Neutered

Sweet Garnet is looking for a home and forever family. Typical for pigs his age he loves to run and play much more than he likes to be held. He loves veggies and hay and his occasional treats. He also likes to "explore" with his teeth so he will need reminders on his manners and is not a good choice for families with young children.

    Age: 9 Months
    Altered:Neutered

“Hi everypawdy, my name is Choptank, but you can call me “Tank” for short :) While I’m a little bit shy, I love to popcorn and come to the bars for my favorite treats: lettuce, carrots, and GuineaDad pea flakes. My brother used to be my roommate, but now I have my own bachelor pad. It’s alright, but I can’t wait to meet the girl of my dreams and move into a forever home. Does your family have room for me?”

  •

    Name:Bantal
    Sex:Female
    Type: Brown/Abyssinian
    Age: 10 Months
    Altered:Spayed

Bantal is Indonesian for pillow. This little lady certainly is as soft as the fluffiest of pillows. Bantal is outgoing and fearless, going after veggies, her cagemate and her foster mom’s cat who gets too close. She is curious and loves a good explore, but also settles nicely for petting on your lap. Nibbling on your finger is a frequent test that needs a reminder of no. She would really like to have a boy of her own in her forever home, because it’s so frustrating to be blocked by grids from the other foster boy.

  •

    Name:Remla
    Sex:Female
Type: White and Brown Agouti on face/Abyssinian
    Age: 8 Months
    Altered:Spayed

Remla is a calm little girl. She lets her cagemate rule the cage, and is only a little hesitant to emerge from her hide to also be hand-fed her treat. She seems to follow the example of others. She is a lovely cuddler and would likely come out of her shell more with a boy or cagemate who wasn’t so bossy.

I'm Zara, the fluffy brown and white one, and Zeda is the black and white one. We are a very friendly, lovable bonded pair. We are particularly happy to munch on our Orchard Grass. We will take treats nicely from your hand. We love being in the middle of the household activity to let you know when we would like something to eat and to be a part of the everyday happenings. We enjoy lap time and would love to spend time with you. We would be very happy if you welcomed us into your home.

    Name:Celia
    Sex:Female
    Type: Blonde & White/American Shorthair
    Age: 3 Years , 1 Month
    Altered:Spayed

Hi! I’m Celia! I lost my buddy recently, and I was returned to the rescue. I’m a smart, sassy girl who LOVES lettuce but not the ribs. I only enjoy the finest leaves of lettuce. I am very vocal and love to talk to you when I am out, when I explore during floor time, or when veggies are expected. I am good at snuggling, but I don’t like to pee on you. So, if you make sure I pee BEFORE I come out, I will snuggle with you for quite some time. I give piggy kisses, too! I seem to be a picky eater at the moment, but a new friend might change that. Can you pick me to be your forever companion?
