Available Guinea Pigs

Adoption Policy »
  1. Before applying, review the page about appropriate CAGES (click here) . It is very important to us that your guinea pig has a proper size cage!
  2. We do NOT SHIP guinea pigs. You must be able to come to us for the adoption.
  3. We do NOT ADOPT to minors. Heads-of-household only can apply to adopt. Please do not apply to adopt if you are a minor living with your parents.
  4. We do NOT ADOPT to people who have other pets living outdoors (with the exception of horses and other farm animals).
  5. Review important guinea pig DIET information: What to Feed Your Guinea Pig.
  6. We have a "pairs policy". If you own a guinea pig, we are happy to help you find a compatible friend amongst ours. If you don't own a guinea pig, you may adopt a bonded pair or create a pair from our single guinea pigs. When you don't already own a guinea pig, we highly recommend adopting one of our bonded pairs - that way you know you have a pair that gets along, and won't run the risk of them not getting along once you get them home.

Fees »

Fees as of Jan 1, 2019

  • $65 per neutered male guinea pig
  • $80 per spayed female guinea pig
  • $110 for bonded pairs (Pairs listed on the site together)
  • Unlike some other rescue groups, all of our guinea pigs are spayed/neutered and have been to a vet for a checkup prior to adoption. While the adoption fee helps to cover some of the vet costs, our expenses far exceed the adoption fees. Click Here to see why we feel that spaying/neutering our guinea pigs is so important. Not only does it control the guinea pig population, there are definite health benefits.
  • A contract must be signed at adoption time

Notice about adopting female guinea pigs:There is currently a higher demand for spayed, female guinea pigs than availability. There may be up to a two month waiting period after submitting an application. We are limited by which guinea pigs are available in the local shelters and availability of foster homes. We appreciate your patience when adopting.

    Age: 10 Months
    Altered:Neutered/Spayed

This adorable pair are very attached to each other! They are looking for a serious, committed, forever home. They are quite young and have seen too many changes in their lives already. They are curious and lively but also skittish and wary of handling. Lots of love and attention will make all the difference and turn them into snuggly lap friends in no time. Suklaa (dark brown) is quite timid but is learning to be braver from Mordecai.

Mordecai will "kiss with teeth" while he's exploring you. He should grow out of that at some point but if you have young children it's something to keep in mind.

Take a look at my tresses! Wouldn't you love to run your fingers through my beautiful hair while we watch TV together at night? I can see us now all comfy and cozy, you, me and a sweet girly pig to keep me company when you aren't around. I love lap time in my fleece bag and running free and exploring with my foster mom's cats because I'm so lonely for another pig to play with. But I gotta warn you about my long hair--I get touchy if it gets pulled, and I'd prefer to have it trimmed so it doesn't get messy. In other words, I'm high maintenance and am not the pig for a household with children. If you think you'd like to care for my tresses, fill out an application today.

Hello Everyone we are glad to finally make it to the available for adoption page. It's been a long haul getting here but we are finally ready for our new forever home. Because of some poo issues it will be necessary for us to be on Sherwood food and very limited veggies for the rest of our lives. A bit of celery, cucumber, wheat grass and lettuce is about all our digestive systems can handle. WE are true love bugs and love it when foster mom reaches in to give us head scratches. We have been in the foster care system for 18 months now and we are ready to go home.
